Dakota Crites: Senior

This past Fall I had the pleasure of photographing my cousin, Dakota (or Cody for short), a Senior at Decatur High School! It's interesting to photograph a family member, especially one that's a Senior in High School... mainly because it reminds me how old I am! I'm not THAT old but I remember holding Cody as a newborn baby... now he's 18, a soon-to-be High School graduate and headed into the Air Force this August! Where does the time go!? It's a reminder that these photos not only capture someone in the moment, but last much longer than we think. Photos and video are powerful things.

It was fun to be able to photograph Cody. I wasn't sure how he would do with the whole posing thing, but he was an instant pro at it. He was willing to smile on cue and you could tell he knew what he was doing.

We headed to downtown Indianapolis, starting at the Canal. We made our way over to Military Park and the Indiana Historical Society. We concluded once again at the Canal. This area really has every element needed for a comprehensive photo shoot. This includes natural, architectural and suburban elements.

I'm excited for Cody as he heads to the Air Force this coming August; he's an incredibly smart young man with a level head on his shoulders. I have no doubt that, much like his mother, he'll become very successful and do great things!
