National Night Out 2026

Another year, another National Night Out—and another reminder of how meaningful it can be to capture moments like these.

I had the opportunity once again to photograph and film a family friend’s neighborhood National Night Out celebration. After helping with this event for several years, it’s become more than just another opportunity to pick up the camera. It’s been really special to see the community continue to come together year after year.

National Night Out creates a chance for neighbors to connect while also recognizing the first responders and local services who work every day to keep our communities safe—often without much recognition for the work they do.

That’s one of the things I enjoy most about photo and video. Sometimes the moments you capture may seem simple at the time, but they become a record of the people, traditions and experiences that bring a community together.

I’m grateful to have once again played a small part in documenting this night and creating something the neighborhood can look back on for years to come.
