Good Soil
Good Soil was founded in 2025 by Tom Langebartels. I’ve known Tom since about 1997 and have worked tirelessly to become like an 8th son to him! :)
All jokes aside, it’s true, growing up I got to know his family through church. I attended church related activities, working behind-the-scenes in the tech, music and video world with all of them. Eventually I became good friends and even a pseudo-brother with many of his biological kids. I attended the weddings of all of Tom’s kids, including being in 2 of them and having 2 of them be in my own wedding! Needless to say, I am very close with Tom’s family, and with all that said, when Tom retired he started a business, Good Soil, eventually recruiting my services.
Tom, his wife Wendy, myself, Laura Langebartels (Tom’s daughter-in-law and one of the weddings I was in) and Brad Langebartels (Tom’s 3rd son) pulled our skills together to launch Good Soil.
Laura is the Web Admin, using her years of experience and creativity she crafted the perfect website for Good Soil. Brad was the logo designer, his creative eye and skills took all of our ideas and crafted the perfect logo for Good Soil. Myself, I made a video for Good Soil.
This video was designed to share the story of how Good Soil came to be. I sat down with Tom and recorded his story, we gathered images, I captured new footage (handheld and drone) and I assembled the video. I think it does a fantastic job showing off this unique and important business.
Good Soil seeks to combine business and mission, creating custom gardens while empowering refugees to thrive in the American workforce. Good Soil builds and maintains backyard food production gardens while offering a wide range of related products and services. They recognize each person brings unique skills from their country of origin, and they strive to assist them in utilizing those skills in the American context.
It was a privilege for Tom to call on my services and honor to be able to convey this wonderful and important story!
