Totty Studio of Vocal & Piano Artistry

I got involved with the Totty Studio of Vocal & Piano Artistry in 2023. I have known founder and owner, Tamara Wise Totty, since the late 90’s! I even had the honor of filming her wedding back in 2014.

Tamara has always had an incredible amount of creativity and musical talent, so when she first reached out about capturing the studio’s annual Showcase, I was honored to help.

The Showcase gives local high school students, graduates and other performers the opportunity to demonstrate the skills they have developed through the Totty Studio. Each year, I film the full event so Tamara can share it with the students and their families.

Along with delivering the complete Showcase, I create individual performance clips for each artist and a recap video that the studio can use on its website and social media. The recap highlights moments from the event while also showcasing the studio’s services, including vocal and piano instruction, music directing and music theory.

After filming the Showcase in 2023 and 2024, I was grateful to be invited back again in both 2025 and 2026. It has been rewarding to watch new groups of artists take the stage each year and to help preserve these important moments in their musical journeys.

This year the Studio added a new Vocal/Piano Teacher to their ranks, Ian Black. I’ve known Ian since 2015 when he began on staff at Eagle Church. Since then, he has moved on, performing all over the country, including locally with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Working with Ian was certainly a bonus to helping out the Studio.

The studio has also continued to grow, including the addition of vocal and piano teacher Ian Black. I’ve known Ian since 2015, when he joined the staff at Eagle Church. Since then, he has moved on and performed throughout the country, including locally with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Getting to work with someone I’ve known for many years has been another meaningful part of filming these events.

What began as a single Showcase project has now become an annual tradition that I’m always happy to be part of. It continues to be an honor to support Tamara, Ian and the talented performers of the Totty Studio of Vocal & Piano Artistry.

I wish them continued success and look forward to seeing where the studio and its artists go next!
