Bon Voyage, Friend

Dear Ian Black, we met you in 2014.

You quickly became our friend. We invited you to things and did our best to make you feel at home after moving from a tough situation in Chicago.

You’re someone we would have had in our wedding had we known you sooner, you’re someone who speaks Biblical truth so adamantly that people are drawn to you.

You dance, you sing, you do the splits every day. You make “jokes”, you’re a foodie who hates Cracker Barrel for some reason, but not all friendships are perfect.

As you move from this chapter of your life in Indiana, to the next chapter of your life in Colorado, we wish you the best of luck.

As I look back on all the fun projects we’ve done together, I realize how exciting they were with you in them. It’s like you were made to be a star. 🌟

One of my favorite film franchisees met our annual Ignite youth camp. Ian, you were an obviously choice for the lead, but having two of you might have been a lovely nightmare.

The pièce de résistance of our friendship can be summed up in possibly one of my favorite projects with *you*, Puppet Ian. This was a project done to promote Ignite Camp.

Puppet Ian was modeled after you, obviously, and was just as outgoing, dynamic and fun as the real life thing. Though you weren’t actually in this video… I like to think of it as a tribute to you and all the aspects of you we love.

More on Puppet Ian can be found here.

Ian, we’re going to miss you.

We’ll miss your honesty, your passion for life and your accessibility to us!

Distance won’t keep us apart and we can’t wait to see what new, exciting things you’ll do for God’s kingdom. Though I can’t imagine you’ll be captured on film as well as I have captured you. ;) xoxo
